Art of Travel with Huda Ali: “Travelling with just one luggage is nearly impossible!”

TV personality and mother-of-one Huda Ali seems to have it all. On top of helming Singapore-based flea market business LalooLalang which aims to bring local up-and-coming entrepreneurs together, “giving them added leverage and publicity while also promoting their businesses”, she is also a mother to a four-year-old daughter.

Juggling her career and family, we definitely can learn a trick or two (we love how adorable the mother-and-child duo is with their matchy (uber stylish) outfits — from the superhero.

We speak to the local media personality on travelling with kids, her favourite destination and more.

Favourite Part of Travelling

huda ali

“It might be cliche but it’s true that my favourite thing about travelling has to be the experience to explore and how it broadens my horizon. From new places and distinct culture to meeting different kinds of people and of course, food! Travelling also strengthens family bonding.”

Travelling with Children

huda ali

“It has been more adventurous now. Travelling with a kid is a whole new level I would say! I used to backpack a lot with my husband but now, travelling with just one luggage is nearly impossible!”

huda ali

“On a brighter note, travelling has been very exciting and fun when you have a kid around because you get to explore attractions like Disneyland et cetera (I doubt my husband would want to visit Disneyland two days in a row if it’s not because of our daughter!).”

Why Connectivity is Important

huda ali

“(Travelling with #ChangiWiFi) makes travelling so much easier and you get to send updates despite being far from your family members and friends. Staying connected helped us a lot in terms of navigating when we are overseas.”

Favourite Destination in the World

“I love Japan so much! I’ve been (there) twice and I can’t get enough of it! There is no other place so clean, with the people so kind and civilized. The food is also so fantastic; views and landscape stunning!”

Skincare Essentials She Can’t Travel Without

“My moisturizer and tinted lip balm. I have very dry skin and it gets even drier especially in winter climate countries. (I also have chapped lips) and tinted lip balms work best for me as I don’t like to put on lipsticks for long-haul flights.”

Travelling as Work Inspiration

huda ali

“As an event organizer and curator, travel really fuels my creativity. I get more inspired by the culture and ethics of different people from all walks of life, and I believe exposure to different cultures gave me and my own brand – LalooLalang a competitive edge.”
