5 Fab Massage Centres in Batam to Relax & Recharge

Who doesn’t love a good massage session? While Batam in Indonesia makes a number one weekend hotspot for Singaporeans to travel to, you know that going for a massage is a hundred per cent on their itinerary.

Though for first timers, choosing the one (within a stipulated time) might prove to be challenging. Heard of various types of massages which include popular ones like the Balinese Aromatherapy Massage and Traditional Thai Massage?

To relieve stress and alleviate sore muscles, opt for former as it uses slower, more forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissues.

The latter that is Traditional Thai massage involves movement, stretching and application of direct pressure. You might find your body contoured in awkward positions but once the massage is over, you will feel extremely relaxed. For those who prefer to stay grease-free, this massage is perfect for you as no oil is applied to the skin.

No matter, see below for our top five favourite massage centres to pamper yourself with a full body massage:

The best, so far. 👍🏻

Conveniently located next to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall, the upscale centre makes a great choice if you are in the area. The best perk: Free transportation service to and from any location in Batam.

Upon entering the Majesty Spa and Massage, we were greeted by a calming music of choice and we were impressed by the well-maintained (and cosy!) facility.

What we had: 2-hour Body Scrub + Bali Thai Massage (SGD50+). The staff were attentive and asked for our choice of spa, the level of strength for massage and choice of scrub. The masseuses are definitely skilled in delivering the form of massage. Proof: We slept our way through while they worked their magic.

Afterwards, we could shower in the spa and were offered plenty of comfort drinks and snacks like ginger tea, fruit juice, cookies and even cup noodles. Though this is slightly higher-priced, the cosy hideout and stellar service are worth coming back for.

#2 Eska Wellness Spa

Address: Blok R4 – F3 , R4 – F3A, Nagoya Hill, Jalan Teuku Umar, Lubuk Baja, Lubuk Baja Kota, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau 29444, Indonesia

If you’re looking for a more affordable massage with other beauty-related services (complete the experience with a mani or facial!), here’s an option worth considering.

What we had: 1.5-hour Aromatherapy Massage (SGD24+). A caveat: Eska does not have any bathing facilities. We were guided into a large room with curtains as partitions. After a decent massage, we were served ginger tea as well.

#3 REBORN Massage & Reflexology Batam

Address: Nagoya Hill Superblock Blok R3 – i7 Nagoya, Lubuk Baja Kota, Lubuk Baja, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau 29444, Indonesia

Another budget-friendly and massage-only option that is located outside Nayoga Hill. If you are in Batam on the weekdays, score 30% off on any packages from 10am to 2pm.

We also like that the contemporary space has a very welcoming touch to it.

What we had: 2-hour full body massage (SGD16 after the weekday discount). Do look out for other promotions even if you are going on the weekends.

#4 Indo Thai

Address: Komplek Nagoya Garden Phase I Blok D No. 4-5, Riau 29432, Indonesia

A strong competitor to Majesty Spa and Massage – what with its fully furnished facility and great service – services here might be slightly pricier. Plus, there are free drinks for guests at the TV lounge to munch on while waiting.

A chocoholic dream come true is the parlour’s signature Warm Chocolate Massage (SGD38). Indulge in the luxurious massage with chocolate aromatherapy oil. Psst: There’s no shower facilities here.

#5 Thai Best

Address: Nagoya Hill Mall, Lantai 2,SA-SF-2B2 (In front of Food Point), Jl. Teuku Umar No.1, Lubuk Baja Kota, Lubuk Baja, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau 29444, Indonesia

Thai Best is a modern massage spot in Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall at Level 3 (just next to the cinema!). It was recently opened, and you’ll heart the warm lightings that bring instant relaxation. Like what its name implies, Thai Best focuses on providing authentic Thai massage to its customers.

They have two branches, the other is located in Batam City Square (check this outlet out if you want a foot massage!). Also: It is the first massage centres in Batam to have a foot reflexology theatre hall where customers could watch movies while having a foot massage in their reclining chairs.

Going on a day trip? Settle with their SGD55 package for a 1-hour Thai authentic massage and 30 minutes of body scrub (inclusive of 2-way ferry tickets and free pickup services). You’re welcome!
