The land of your favourite Sanrio characters; Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Gudetama and more; has a whole new lineup running from July 14 to September 2, 2018.

The “Puro Natsu Fest 2018” will showcase new performances and shows like “Kawaii Kabuki”, where Sanrio characters dressed in traditional costumes perform Kabuki – a classical Japanese dance-drama.

The main entertainment hall will also be transformed into “Puro Island”, where seaside games and food can be enjoyed, and photo-taking opportunities with characters donning summer clothing are aplenty — think bright colours and tropical prints!

A limited edition summer menu will also be available at the park’s restaurants, with seasonal ramen and pasta decorated with cute Sanrio character motifs.

Visitor’s note: For the new season, the park has made some changes to its opening hours so do check ahead if you decide to make a trip down! Get your tickets here

Tokyo Disneyland Park & Tokyo DisneySea

Celebrating Tokyo Disney Resort’s 35th anniversary, both parks have new shows and events to commemorate this special occasion, which began on April 15, 2018 and will last till March 15, 2019.

At Tokyo Disneyland Park, the aptly named event, “Happiest Celebration!”, kicks off the celebration with its new daytime parade: “Dreaming Up!”; a 45-minute music and dance spectacle showcasing 13 floats of popular Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, characters from Peter Pan, as well as childhood princesses; Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel and more.

From July 10, 2018, expect a new nighttime spectacular: “Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland!”. Taking center stage at Cinderella’s Castle, Mickey and friends will take you on a 15-minute adventure featuring state-of-the-art projections, lasers, water cannons and more, giving you a magical end to the day.

Also: Check out Theater Orleans’ “Let’s Party Gras!”, Disney’s take on the Mardi Gras festival which happens annually in New Orleans. The spotlight is on Mickey and friends as they dance to dynamic music in colourful costumes, bringing you along for the party!

With close to 40 new figures from Disney films such as Frozen, Alice In Wonderland, Brave, Moana and more, plus remixed soundtracks of memorable scenes, the attraction of “It’s A New World” has finally reopened on April 15, 2018 with an enhanced edition for its celebration.

At South Korea’s largest theme park, they’re ushering in summer with “Summer Water Fun” – an annual festival that is sure to cool you off. Held from June 22 to August 26, 2018, Everland essentially turns into a giant water theme park, where visitors are encouraged to bring (or buy from the park’s shops) water guns and ponchos to take part in the festivities.

Highlight of the festival: Day show “Jack’s Splash Parade” where performances make use of water cannons, pumping music, special effects and audience engagement; in the form of water fights; to hype everyone up for what is only the start of a fun (and water-filled) day.
