We’re Seriously Loving These New Luxury Villas in Bali

Upping the ante with stunning views and exceptional service, these newly-opened Bali resorts are what you need for a holistic zen experience.

Here, check out three hideouts to put on your radar if you’re looking for an intimate cultural experience, indulge in spa and wellness treatments, or simply hole up blissfully without ever leaving your room:

#1 The Longhouse

Address: The Longhouse, Tiara Nusa Estate Jalan Goa Gong, Jimbaran, Bali 80361

In December 2017, a new boutique hotel and private villa concept opened in the heart of Bali’s Jimbaran. Its aim: To offer independent travellers, couples and small groups with the intimacy and coveted experience without renting the whole villa.

The Longhouse isn’t a new name in the industry. In fact, it has been around since 2009. But what we were looking forward to enjoying: The newly-renovated and expansion of the boutique hotel tie-up with which brings six exclusive suites featuring scenic views that overlook the Jimbaran horizon. According to the establishment, each suite is named after an Indonesian island (there’s the Lombok Suite, Sumatra Suite, East and West Java Suites and the like) designed to celebrate the culture of each island through local art and furnishings.

What you need to check out: Home theatre movie screenings, meditation sessions at the on-site Yoga Bale, plus in-house spa treatments and healing remedies by experienced therapists.

For a cosy tete-a-tete session or casual alfresco party, check out the garden barbecue and candlelit dinner areas. For novelty’s sake (or some adventure), try out new activities ranging from Balinese cooking lessons to Canang basket weaving. Sick of the usual hangouts? Then you have to take advantage of their private village tours which explore Bali’s off-the-beaten tracks.

#2 REVĪVŌ

Address: REVĪVŌ Wellness Resorts, Jl. Desa Sawangan, Kelurahan Benoa, Kec. Kuta Selatan, Badung, Bali

The much-anticipated opening of the first REVĪVŌ property in Nusa Dua came to pass two months ago. Bringing a new standard for wellness retreats in Asia, the concept centred around the enrichment of the spirit, mind and body through a series of customised wellness packages which include relaxation and holistic spa treatments and activities.

Your next go-to retreat hotspot for a relaxing getaway.

Tucked in the lush forest hilltops with unbeatable views of the Indian Ocean, we’d say the idyllic surroundings are perfect to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life. Food-wise, health is at the core of it, and they have an in-house nutritionist chef who comes up with healthy recipes catered to each individual’s specific needs too.

#3 Capella Ubud

Address: Capella Ubud, Jl. Raya Dalem, Banjar, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali 80561

Going to Ubud? Here’s a hidden gem to pin to your itinerary, and where to find all things green and nature. Picture yourself being surrounded by the scenic rice terraces at every point of your stay and bask in the natural surrounds. Fun fact: According to the brand, no tree was cut down as a result of the construction.

Most of the tented retreats are perched on valley slopes (pictured) to preserve the natural beauty.

Inspired by early settlers from the 1800s, the 22 ultra-lavish tents and one 2-bedroom lodge are complete with individual plunge pools.

The room interiors are modelled after the colonial times.

The resort also features the signature Capella library, a canopied cistern pool, tented gym, different specialty restaurants, and the award-winning Auriga Spa & Wellness Retreat. Complimentary active wellness activities such as yoga and meditation, trekking, Pilates, TRX and even jungle boot camps are available for guests. Plus, travellers would heart the bespoke itineraries designed for guests to explore temples, markets, waterfalls, the arts and culinary trails — feeding their adventurous spirit beyond the camp and exploring all that Bali has to offer.
