#1 Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester

Opening hours: Tue to Fri, 12nn – 1.30pm & 6.30pm – 9.30pm; Sat, 6.30pm – 9.30pm. Closed on Sun and Mon.

The Food:
Modern French cuisine with hints of international flavours. Putting a spotlight on their seasonal offerings, you will appreciate the thoughtful blends of French and British ingredients. Their mainstays include the juicy roast chicken (pictured above) and turbot served with beetroot.

 #2 Claude Bosi at Bibendum

Opening hours: Wed to Sun, 12 – 1.15pm & 6.30 – 9.45pm. Closed on Mon and Tue.
The Food:
Besides a contemporary space to have your mains (there’s Cornish cod, roast black chicken, and smoked eel), seafood fans would delight in the oyster bar! Go for the tasting menu (£110) comprising a curated seven-course meal. Psst… Check out their extensive wine list, too!

The Setting:
With the chic neutral decor palette and blue-hued stained glass windows, the well-lit space is a delight to dine in. Aside from creating an illusion of a bigger room, the open-air concept adds a romantic touch to the already stunning setting.

#3  The Ledbury

The Food:
If you are looking for a vegetarian meal, The Ledbury is your go-to place: They even have a special lunch, dinner, and tasting menu for it. We recommend the four-course set lunch (£75) with a light pumpkin soup with bacon and truffle as a starter, roast cauliflower and crab claw as the main, and to conclude the meal on a sweet note, the whipped buttermilk (with coconut) for dessert.

The Setting:
A cosy, handsome space with modern touches and Nordic elements.

#4 The Five Fields

The Food:
A three-course sample menu (£65) that changes daily according to the season. Crowd favourites include the turbot, short rib and cheesecake.

The Setting:
Swathed in muted shades like brown and gray, the space exudes elegance with strategic gold accents. We think this stylish diner is perfect for cosy birthday or anniversary celebration.

#5 Club Gascon

The Food:
Opt for the three-course A Taste of Winter menu that’s packed with the hero main dish of barbecued cod, crab, and sea urchin. It’s paired with a savoury wild mushroom side, and a delightful wine jelly dessert to cleanse the palate.
The Setting:
Tucked in a quaint corner of one of the city’s oldest churches, you’ll find yourself being transported back the medieval times. We love the towering ceilings, plush velvet chairs, and stained glass windows.
