We’re Obsessed With These Instagram-Worthy Cafes In Bangkok

In case you didn’t get the memo, café-hopping is the hobby of the moment; from spending hours Googling for the best brunch cafes to actually visiting them all. If you and your friends are fast approaching the end of your lists of curated cafes, here are three more contenders to add

#1: Roast Coffee

Address: The COMMONS (Market Fl.), Thonglor 17, Sukhumvit 55, Bangkok 10110 (Only open on weekends)

Always whining about overpriced coffees and pastries? Roots Coffee will have none of that nonsense. Confident of their barista’s skills, the joint has a unique billing concept whereby there are no prices tagged to anything on the menu. With an “honesty box”, customers simply pay whatever sum they feel their orders are worth. There is no doubt about the quality of the coffee here—in fact, Roots Coffee even conducts courses to train aspiring baristas!

#2: Hello Kitty House

Address: Siam Square 1

There are quite a few Hello Kitty cafes in Asia, but this one beats the competition by being among the largest ones out there! The multi-story complex consists of not just an eatery, but a shop and spa as well! The entire shop is extremely (and hence conspicuously) pink, so you won’t miss it if you’re along the road. The first and second floors are where the takeaway counter and dine-in areas are.

They serve mocktails, cheesecakes, smoothies, coffees and signature dishes such as the Apple Stew Pot Pie and D.I.Y Strawberry Tiramisu. Once you’re done taking selfies against the Hello Kitty décor and uploading photos of the cartoon-themed food on Instagram, pick up some Sanrio merchandise or treat yourself to a manicure at the Hello Kitty Shop and Spa located in the basement

#3: 24 Owls

Address: 39/9 Sol Ekkamai 12 Sukhumvit 63 Road (Open 24-7)

Love café-hopping but just can’t wake up for brunch? We have those days too. Night owls can swing by this aptly-named café, which serves all-day pastas and cakes in addition to their extensive breakfast menu.

The al fresco seating area is a splendid spot for photos, as it resembles the quaint European streets in London. The interior is decorated with bric-a-brac, with cute ornaments all over the store. This is complemented by the garden in the back yard. 24 Owls serves Western and Thai dishes, and has beverages from craft beers to coffees—making it the perfect place to refuel after a big night out in Sukhumvit!
